Native plants are the way to grow

Coreopsis ‘Full Moon’ Native Hybrid from Sunny Border

Recommended by James Hohmann, Brighton

The only thing better than a plant that is native to Massachusetts is its hybrid! For those who aren’t full time plant geeks, a hybrid represents an improvement on a plant species. Enter Coreopsis ‘Full Moon’ developed by renowned Massachusetts hybridizer, Darrell Probst. The ‘Full Moon’is an enhanced form of the native yellow tickseed plant we’ve all grown to love, making it a perfect choice for New England gardens. It has brilliant, canary yellow blooms that grow up to 3”in diameter July till frost–and tons of them! The stems are very well branched with lush green foliage.A perennial workhorse, this coreopsis is a welcome addition to any mid-border. It is very easy to grow, and will tolerate most any soil. The drought-tolerant nature of this Coreopsis also makes it a great plant for spots that don’t get watered everyday.
