Step 1 (Early Spring)

Spring Fertilizer & Crabgrass Preventer

Each spring crabgrass germination is triggered by warming soil temperatures – application time may vary from year to year depending on the beginning of spring. For best results apply 1 to 2 weeks prior to crabgrass germination – typically between early April and May. Another guide to apply before forsythia shrubs drop their flowers.

Mahoney’s Garden Lover’s Premium Spring Fertilizer & Crabgrass Preventer is a professional formulation that will feed your lawn nitrogen, phosphorus and potash, without stimulating excessive growth. The slow release nitrogen will provide sustained feeding throughout spring. The crabgrass preventer in this product is powered by TEAM™, a unique herbicide that prevents the germination of most common New England crab and weed grasses as they germinate. TEAM is safe and effective when used in accordance to directions.

Weed & Feed Fertilizer & Weed Control

Mahoney's Garden Lover's Premium Weed & Feed is professionally formulated to feed your lawn nitrogen, phosphorus and potash, without stimulating excessive growth. The slow release nitrogen will provide sustained feeding throughout the spring. The weed control in this product is powered by Trimec®, a topical herbicide that kills most common New England Weeds. Trimec® is safe and effective when used according to directions.

Use anytime weeds are active and daytime temperatures are above 60º. Control will be slower if weather is cool. Applications spring and fall will provide the most effective weed control.

Deep Green Lawn Fertilizer with Iron

Mahoney's Garden Lover's Premium Deep Green Lawn Fertilizer is a professional formulation that will feed your lawn nitrogen, phosphorus and potash, without stimulating excessive growth. The special blend of 3 slow release nitrogen sources will provide sustained feeding throughout the growing season.

The first is a sulfer-coated urea. As the coating gradually breaks down nitrogen is slowly released.

The second is Nutralene®, a unique earth-friendly nitrogen that is released by the natural microbial activity in the soil. During the fall and winter, when microbial activity slows, the release of the fertilizer also slows. When soil temperatures rise in the spring, microbial activity increases releasing fresh nitrogen to your lawn for a healthy start.

The third is 97% water insoluble organic nitrogen, that is rich in important trace elements and iron. This nitrogen helps fight diseases and produce a deep dark green lawn.

Lawn Winterizer and Root Enhancer with Iron

Mahoney's Garden Lover's Premium Lawn Winterizer and Root Enhancer is a professional, organic based formulation that will protect your lawn during New England's harsh winters and prepare it for early spring greening. First we've added Nurtralene®, a unique earth-friendly, microbial-activated slow release synthetic-organic nitrogen that partially remains in the root zone throughout the winter, making it available for warm spring temperatures. Then we add a high phosphorus content to stimulate root growth and early spring greening. Next we add potash to provide vigor and disease resistance. Finally we add 2% Iron to enhance the lawn's deep dark green color even through the cold winter months.
