Question
Any flowers that you can recommend to plant now to get through the rest of the summer and into the fall?
Answer
Petunias, Lantana, ornamental peppers, sedums, grasses, celocia, ornamental cabbage and kale, mums (you can cut back the mums in sept. for second bloom), pansy, viola. You could also use edibles that have colorful foliage like swiss chard, mesclun mix lettuce, mustard they all hold up to cold weather. You could sow the edible seeds directly in the container and watch them grow . The fall blooming crocus will be available soon, they also could be added in and around your planting. Then plant the crocus in the ground after they finishing blooming. Saffron spice is from a fall crocus called sativus. Hope this insprires you. Thank you for your question.
