If the Linden tree is in you Lawn area make sure you edge out at least 36” around the trunk of the tree. If it is in an evergreen area be careful not to use evergreen food in or around your flowering trees or shrubs. I would use a product called Bio -Tone . With a pitch fork make holes around the tree, out at the drip line, add the recommended dose and water it in. Lindens are just coming into flower now in our area, this solution may not show results until next summer.
